Venice and Lake Como

Venice and Lake Como

Both Venice and Lake Como are in the northern part of Italy. I have been to both places twice, with my favorite group of 8 traveling women and with my husband and 3 other couples. Canals or a Y shaped lake- you choose. You can't go wrong with either, or both!

What I can do for you:

  • Find great places to stay right along a canal
  • Share with you information about  gondola rowing lessons
  • Tell you where the gondoliers eat
  • Help you understand how to take ferries around Lake Como
  • Take a hike along the lake shore
  •
  • Budget

  • Airfare to Venice or Milan $1100 from DFW
  • Hotels will run $150 and up for Venice and I would recommend renting a house or an apt for a place to stay at Lake Como. Hotels are $250 and up.
  • Food will be about $60 a day pp not including wine.
  • Entrance to museums, ferry rides, gondolas etc will be $15-$50 pp
  •

The best thing about Venice is wandering the canal neighborhoods.  Cross the Rialto Bridge to get to the market. Feed the pigeons in San Marco Square. Discover the back canals of Venice.

Lake Como is a stunning beautiful. Take ferries to all the towns. Hire a guide to take you on a celebrity Villa Tour, or take a local train out of town and hike back along the lake!
