Grand Canyon and Mesa Verde National Parks

Grand Canyon and Mesa Verde National Parks

I went to Mesa Verde when I was 8 years old, and I am so glad that I got to see it again- 50 years later. The National Park service has done a great job with the new Mesa Verde visitor center.

The Grand Canyon is always a popular place to visit- I prefer the North Rim of the Grand Canyon over the south rim, because it is less crowded and less commercialized.

  • What I can do for you:

  • Navigate the National Park reservation system to get a cabin or lodge room at The North Rim
  • Inform you about the process of getting entrance tickets for the special archeological areas of Mesa Verde Park.
  • Hotel choices for both National Parks if there are no reservations inside the park available.
  • Explore which hikes fit your abilities and desires.
  •
  • Budget

  • Entrance to National Parks is currently $20-25 per car. Mesa Verde has additional fees for guided tours of special cliff dwelling areas.
  • Hotels close to these National Parks run $100 and up for basic hotels
  • Food will cost a bit more inside the National Parks but outside the parks food will be regular prices.

The North Rim of the Grand Canyon has great hiking trails, beautiful canyon views and some really nice cabins with porches and rocking chairs (available if you book early)

Mesa Verde National Park was fun when I was 8 and was even more interesting 50 years later!

If you like to mix history with beauty, then a trip to Mesa Verde and The Grand Canyon would be great for you. Contact me at 1960travelgirl@gmail.com
