Yosemite and Redwood Forests California
California has many outstanding places to visit. My family really loved The Muir Woods and The Redwood Forest and our trip to Yosemite. You can do this as a triangle route driving trip...and even throw in a visit to a few wineries!
What I can do for you:
- Plan a driving route to make the most of your time.
- Help you find great accommodations that are either family oriented or more for couples
- Choose good wineries
- Navigate the National Park reservation system-if you wish to stay in Yosemite
- Select hikes or sightseeing tours that match your ability level.
COST
- The summer will be the most expensive and the most crowded. Hotels will run $150 and up per night for basic accommodations. Reservations for a park stay need to be made 1 year in advance. There are rental homes, cabins and cottages outside the parks that are an option.
- Flights into the nearest airport (87 miles) will be about $450 rt from DFW- non stop, airports further out (200 miles) will run $175 rt.
- Food prices near/in the parks are elevated, but outside the area prices will be about the same as home.
- California gas prices tend to be higher than TX prices.
