Ireland
My husband and I traveled to Ireland in 2007. With the exception of driving on the opposite side of the road, Ireland is one of the easiest countries to visit- though some things are in Gaelic, everyone speaks English! They say that there are 21 different shades of green in Ireland and I believe that. You must visit Ireland to see beautiful countrysides, listen to great music in the pubs, wander through old castles and cemeteries, and explore bigger cities. I hope luck of the Irish and a pint of Guinness comes your way!!
What I can do for you:
Suggest a great driving route for any length of days.
Provide a list less touristy places to visit.
Tell you names of towns that have a great pubs, quaint houses and shopping
Share with you some amazing hikes.
Give tips of when and when not to go to Ireland
- Cost:
- You will see many specials to Ireland- and if you are willing to go in the colder months then these are great deals. The cost goes up during the warmer summer months- and so do the crowds.
- Eating in restaurants in Ireland is fairly expensive, pub food is a bit cheaper, and grocery stores such as Lidl make it more cost efficient to get breakfast and lunch items if you are on a budget or are doing a self catering cottage.
- Currently (2018) airfare from DFW ranges from $1100 (August) to $690 (Sept)
- Hotels average about $100-$150 in most towns. Castle stays and high end hotels go up from there- your budget will determine how you stay!
